Vietnam vet reduced to tears when FOX5 surprise squad gifts him a shopping spree

All you kind people out there know how revitalizing it feels to help another person out, even if that person is a total stranger whom you’ll never see again in your life. If that statement resonates with you, you’re going to love what’s “in store” for you here!

The FOX5 Surprise Squad dropped by an Albertsons grocery store in East Charleston, Las Vegas, on Aug. 30, 2017, to share a little love with the locals, and this is one visit that isn’t going to get old anytime soon.

The first customer to receive a special treat is an elderly lady who’s only too pleased to be greeted by reporter Dave Hall, who has the pleasure of asking her, “Can we pay for your groceries?”

The lady’s face lights up all of a sudden as though a switch has been flicked.

“Thank you!” she exclaims with a chuckle.

And that was just the first lucky customer. That handy credit card in Dave’s hand is only getting warmed up.

Each customer the squad reaches out to is yet another touching moment.

Store manager Anthony Ramirez provides some intel on one of their regular customers, Dorthy Richards, who had just dropped in for a shop.

“She’s out there right now,” says Anthony, before leading the squad out to meet her.

Introducing himself, Dave offers to pay for the lady’s $285.08 grocery bill, much of which included a whole lot of cat food. Her furry companions are what gives Dorthy “a reason to get up in the morning,” she said.

Dorthy, who’s been shopping at that very grocery store since 1964, delightedly accepts Dave’s generous offer.

The act of kindness moves a couple of cashiers to tears.

Debbie Neville, who’s worked in Albertsons for four years, said, “it’s nice you guys done this for her and it just really made me happy.”

The most touching scenario, however, is when Dave introduces himself to the last customer.

He learns that this bearded man has been taking care of himself since he was 13 years of age. Moreover, he is a Vietnam veteran who could really do with some assistance.

He had only two items to check out, but Dave turns him round with a reassuring hand on his back.

We don’t want to spoil it for ya’ll.
